Hi I'm Rachel

I have a blended family. I attend BYU. I love music, baking, and quoting movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a history teaching major at BYU with the goal of teaching advanced high school classes. I love playing the piano and singing, and baking desserts. I come from a mixed family and am the eleventh of thirteen children. I love my family more than anything. My family is unique because we are all exceptionally close. Although close initially after my parents were married, we became even closer when one of my sisters passed away. The knowledge that the gospel brings about the eternal nature of families brought mine so much peace. I am so grateful to know that I will be able to be with my family forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active LDS family. My family has been part of the church for generations, being some of the first Mormon pioneers in Utah. Their stories and faith have helped me build my testimony, but ultimately I know the church is true because of my own experiences. I have prayed to truly know if the church is true and have received answers to those prayers. I have no doubts that Jesus Christ lived and atoned for us. I know that God plays an active role in my life and cares for me as my Heavenly Father. I follow the commandments given me out of love for God.

How I live my faith

I show my faith through service. I try to let other people feel the love of Christ by loving them unconditionally. I coordinate women in my apartment complex to visit with other young women to ensure their overall well-being and bring them messages from gospel sources. I also play the piano for the women's organization of my student ward to invite a spirit of reverence to our meetings.
