Hi I'm Catherine

I grew up in Washington and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated in 2010 and went off to school later that year and spent 2.5 years getting my Medical Assisting degree. Afterwards I went home and worked and then went off to school again to finish up and get my nursing degree. It is still a work in progress. Growing up, I always struggled in school, I was always behind and when I got to college I wondered if I would be able to succeed. I have a degree and am happily married to a wonderful man. I came to find out that if you put your mind to it, you can do anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this church and this gospel is true. I know that Joseph Smith saw God, the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that he translated the Book off Mormon by the power of God and that the words in that book are true. I know that Jesus Christ came to this earth to save us from sin and death. He suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane for our sins and for all the pains and suffering we will go through in this life. He suffered on the cross, died, and was resurrected so that we can live again. I know that temples are an important part of the work because in them we are able to do the work for those who have gone before us. They have the chance to receive the blessings that they didn't have a chance to have in this life. This shows me that our Heavenly Father is merciful and kind. He loves us and will do whatever he can to help us return. We just have to be willing to do our part. An experience I had a couple of years ago helped me come to this knowledge. I was really struggling with depression and I hit a point one night that made me wonder why I was even trying anymore. I was at my lowest point. I turned to God and prayed. I learned that my Savior and Heavenly Father were cheering for me to go on. They love me more than I could ever comprehend and all they want is for me to return home to them someday, knowing that I was the best person that I could be. Since then I talk to my Heavenly Father everyday, knowing He is listening and that He cares.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending all my church meetings and taking the sacrament, communion it is called in many other religions, every Sunday. I have had chances to serve the church in many different positions and have had the opportunity to serve many people. I live my faith by reading my scriptures and praying to Heavenly Father with the faith that He will answer my prayers and guide me in the path that I need to go. I live my faith by keeping promises that I made with my Savior when I was baptized into the church. I try everyday to become more like my Savior, Jesus Christ.
