Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a southern belle, and I love to travel. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love to travel, and have been to almost all 50 states. I have also been to 8 different countries. One day I hope to see the whole world. Some of my favorite things are the beach, outdoors, rainbows, and sunsets. Another thing that I like to do is teach. In April of 2013, I graduated with an Associates Degree in Elementary Education. After that I went to Ukraine to teach English for a semester. It was awesome to combine my love of travel with my love of teaching. When I was little, I always dreamt of opening up a school in a third world country.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints brings so much joy into my life. Joy that can only be found through Christ. Over my life, I have had many experiences where I have been grateful for Christ and his atonement. I know that through him, I can do all things. Even when I am being faced with something so difficult, I know that everything will be okay. Christ not only atoned for my sins, but for every hurt and pain I have ever felt. As I have continued to center my life on Christ and his teachings, I have grown closer to him. One of the ways that I am most receptive to the spirit, is through music. Some of the times I have felt the spirit most prominently, is when I am listening to uplifting music. There was one particular time when I was at school, and I was writing a paper for a class. While writing, I was listening to classical music, some of which were hymns with only the melody played on a piano. I was struggling with some things, and stressing about my paper when "I Need Thee Every Hour" came on. I remember being so touched by the spirit, and knowing that my Father in Heaven was there for me. He was answering my prayers in some of the most simple little ways. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me. I know that Christ suffered and died for me so that I can return to live with my Father in Heaven again some day. I know that families can be together forever. I know that Heavenly Father answers my prayers. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that the joy I feel in my life can be found through the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that through his gospel, I will never be alone no matter where I am.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to those around me. I strive to be the best sister, daughter, and friend I can be. I also try my best to live a Christ-centered life. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we are given many opportunities to serve. Over my life I have served in many different capacities. One of my favorites, was serving as a Nursery Leader over 2-3 year olds. On Sundays we would have play and snack time. The children loved that, but the best part of being a nursery leader, was teaching such sweet little children about their savior.
