Hi I'm Merrick
I'm an Electrical Engineer. I'm a father and husband. I'm a Mormon.
I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering. I love creating new things because it helps me learn how things work and, hopefully, how I can make them better. I enjoy teaching others how things work and blogging about my personal engineering projects. The most joy I get in life is in being a father and a husband. I love my family so much and am so grateful for all the support they give me. I'm so happy knowing that I can be with them forever, even after we die, thanks to Jesus Christ and His church.
Growing up going to church, I knew I had to find out for myself whether it was something I wanted to continue believing or not. I believed Jesus knew me and loved me. I read the Book of Mormon when I was 17 years old. While I read it I wanted to know how I could be clean of my sins and if everything I had taught was true. As I read it, I found, through the stories and teachings in the book, how I could repent and be clean of my sins and mistakes. I could feel the love of God, my Heavenly Father, and of Jesus Christ as I tried to be better. I knew the Book of Mormon was true. When I prayed, I could feel that it was true. The Holy Ghost was with me when I prayed and I could feel God's love for me so powerfully that I knew it all was true. I still know it's true.
I have been given several responsibilities in our local congregation to serve. I help make sure our church building is available for people who want to use it for church service, baptisms, basketball, and other events. I also help our local leaders plan meetings and make sure they have the opportunities they need to help people and families resolve the spiritual and daily living problems in their lives. Each morning before my day starts, I love reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible. Both have the words of Jesus Christ and His servants, the prophets. Each week I attend church to participate in the sacrament, taking bread and water in remembrance of Jesus Christ. At church I also participate in Sunday school lessons with my neighbors that teach me about Jesus Christ, His church, and how I can be more like Him.
