Hi I'm Megan

I am a college student majoring in Elementary Education. I love photography, travel, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family has moved a lot due to my Dad's job. I myself am eighteen and have moved fourteen different times. I am the second oldest in a family of five children. I love traveling, the only "world" traveling I've done is to France, Italy, and England. It's my dream to eventually visit every continent. I am an Elementary Education major and in my free time I enjoy photography, blogging, camping, four wheeling, and spending time with loved ones. I enjoy all kinds of music from Elvis Presley to Michael Jackson and everything in between. I play violin and guitar and love creating my own music. I plan on serving as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints this coming year.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because of the comfort and help it has provided me in my life. My family means the world to me and I know that I can be with them even after our time on earth is over. I have read the Book of Mormon and felt the spirit that it brings. I love how the Bible and Book of Mormon support each other and help guide and direct my choices. I know and love Christ and am so grateful for His influence in my life. Being a Mormon has helped me understand some of life's hardest questions. I know why I'm here, I know where I come from, and I know my purpose. These are all things that have blessed me so much. I am a child of God. I know He loves me, cares for me, and only wants the best for me. He is a loving God and this gospel has proven that to me time and time again.

How I live my faith

I'd say that I am an outgoing person, but sharing my testimony can be kind of scary sometimes. I try to share my faith with others not only by verbalizing it but by showing it in my actions and choices. I also have come to understand that I'm not perfect, I know that I will have plenty of mess-ups in my life but by trying harder everyday I can draw closer to Christ. I serve in my ward as a college Home-Evening Leader. This means I look after several men and women my age in my college ward and provide activities and lessons for them every Monday. I enjoy this calling because I am able to see how even though we are all so very different in personality, background, interests, etc we are all still working for the same goal, we all want live in such a way that is pleasing to our Father in Heaven and return to Him someday.

What is faith?

Megan
Faith is believing in something that you can't see but you know in your heart that it is true. Faith in God isn't just a belief that He is real, but having a trust that He is real and there for us. Faith in God is having trust in Him, confidence in Him, and a willingness to act on our faith. One thing I remember from when I was younger is that I was taught that faith is an action word. If you believe in something with your whole heart, like God, then it's easier to act in a way that is pleasing to Him, or to bring others that faith. I also know that sometimes having faith is hard. We all have our doubts at some point in our lives. However, I know that if we work hard, pray, keep the commandments, study God's word, and have a desire to believe, that our faith will grow. Little by little we can build that faith. That is something I am grateful for. Show more Show less
