Hi I'm Christian Berry

I grew up in North Carolina. I am serving a full-time mission in San Jose California, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in North Carolina and moved out to Idaho when I was 18 to go to BYU-Idaho. I studied English and Political Science there for 4 years and am now serving a full-time mission for the Church in San Jose, California. I love playing volleyball, hiking, fishing, swimming and doing anything that will put me outside.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the teachings of this church have brought me closer to Jesus Christ than anything else I have experienced. As I have applied His atonement in my life and felt the joy of repentance, I have been able to build my own testimony of this Church and of this Gospel. I know that God lives and that His son suffered for us. I know that Christ's church has been restored to the earth and that the Book of Mormon is truly the word of God and acts as another testimony of Jesus Christ. I am so thankful for this knowledge and I know that my faith in these things has shaped me into the person that I am today, and it continues to shape me into the woman that I want to become.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as a full-time missionary, working to bring people closer to Christ. Putting my life on hold for 18 months was a big decision but there is nothing else I would rather be doing. This is the hardest, most strenous, and most stressful job that I have ever had, yet it is single handedly the most rewarding experience. I live my faith by daily striving to be more like my Savior.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Christian Berry
I think that the best and most simple answer to this question is that: It is how God set it up. Women don't hold the priesthood because we are not supposed to. One of my favorite scriptures is in 2nd Nephi 2:24 and it says "But behold, all things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things." God knows a lot more than I do, and therefore I trust whatever His reasoning is behind men holding the priesthood. Show more Show less
