Hi I'm Alyssa

I love my family. Musical Theatre is my passion :) I'm a sister, cousin, daughter, friend...and yes, I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of three children in my family. My parents and little brothers are my closest friends and I love spending time with them. Some of my favorite things to do are: go boating, watch my brothers play baseball, see/perform in musicals, and make others laugh. My life goal is to make as many memories as possible! I am currently attending college to eventually become an Elementary School Teacher, and I am so excited to begin teaching children and sharing my passion for theatre and music with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I know without a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the church of God. The Holy Ghost has confirmed it to me on numerous occasions throughout my life. My first memory of feeling the Spirit was when I was baptized and confirmed a member at eight years old. The happiness I felt was unlike anything I'd ever experienced! I remember that I couldn't stop smiling; throughout the events of the day I would randomly start giggling because it felt like "someone was tickling me." I know now that I was feeling for the first time the pure joy and happiness that the Gospel brings. And that was only the beginning :) Since then I have had Joseph Smith's account of the First Vision leap from the pages of my scriptures. I have been to monumental places from our Church's history like Palmyra, New York, Kirtland, Ohio, and Nauvoo, Illinois and connected with the testimonies of our ancestors. I have prayed for knowledge of God's love for me personally and felt warmth and comfort that I desired. I know that He has guided my life to exactly where I am supposed to be and that if I continue to follow Him, he will bless me in more ways that I can possibly imagine. I know He has a plan for each and every one of us. We all have divine potential, and as we keep his commandments and make sacred covenants with Him, He will bless us with the eyes to see it. :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to become more Christ-like each and every day. I pray, read the teachings of the Prophets, attend weekly meetings, obey commandments, and share my knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I find that the more time I spend doing the things God would have me do, the happier I become.
