Hi I'm KayC

I was born and raised in California. I have 6 great kids. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my family, reading, listening to all kinds of music from classical and show tunes, to country and r&b. I like crafting for gift giving and to beautify my home. I like to be creative. I have choreographed taught dances, it was fun for all involved. My favorite thing is being a mom and grandma. I love watching my children and grandchildren grow and relate to each other, support and stand up for each other. I am an interperter and I love learning new languages.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because Jesus is my Lord and Savior. I am a member of His church. He paved the way by His example of getting baptized by immersion. I believe this is the true church. I believe that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God and was translated by Joseph Smith. The scriptures are our road map back to our Heavenly Father. I need a map so as not to get lost. I want to live with Him again and the only way to do it, is to live life as He wants me to. The living prophet tells us the things that the Lord wants us to know and the things He wishes us to do. He speaks with the Lord as prophets of old did. He is the only true prophet on the earth today. The Lord speaks to us through the prophet, church magazines, hymns, our priesthood holders, and the scriptures. I am able to have eternal life with my family if my family and I obey His commandments.

How I live my faith

I am a youth leader. I love the youth and being able to take part in helping to mold and guide not only my children but the children in our ward as well. It is one of my favorite callings. I have served as a teacher for the young children and the women over the years. I am also a visiting teacher. In my home we have Family Home Evening (The family gets together for prayer a hymn, lesson or whatever is planned to do together, a scripture, hymn, prayer, game and treat) every week. We have prayer every morning and night as a family. I also "check in" with Heavenly Father on my own. We also strive to read the scriptures daily. I am honest and teach my children to be that way. I keep my body and mind clean by putting only good things into both. I try to invite the Spirit into my home by trying to live a good life and keeping God's commandments as well as encouraging my family to do the same. I try to be a good example to my children and those around me and surround myself with uplifting people. I sustain my teachers and leaders and look up to them and their example. I pray for missionary moments to be able to help others come unto Christ. I love what I believe in and I am thankful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

KayC
Families are very important to us because it is where we get our start. We get our first feel of who we are from our family. Families can be a safe place to grow, learn and make mistakes. We guide and teach each other. The Lord has given us families for our happiness and to rely on in times of need. It is our safe haven. Our families can teach us to learn to love and serve the Lord and our earthly brothers and sisters. Family is very important for our well being. This can have an eternal family by obeying His commandments and being sealed to our family in the temple. Show more Show less
