Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm a klutz, a brainiac, a nerd, eccentric, love bright colors, have a HUGE heart, a 2x college graduate, & a Mormon.

About Me

I work entirely too much, I've a bit of an over achiever who always needs control of the situation at hand, but a bit slow in the household. I've spent the last 6 years as an adult college student and now have 2 college degree's to show for it! My charity is to send each one of the Relief Society Sisters birthday cards each year! Yes that is a lot of cards and postage but the feeling of knowing I might reach one inactive sister drives me forward! It actually works too! Made many friends that way too! I might be one of the best missionaries ever, I'm always trying to get others to feast upon the Gospel because of how amazing it is! I love my parents with my whole heart and would do anything for them, my favorite place is the beach. To me it is the single best place Heavenly Father ever created where the water, land and sky all combine together at one point, the sound of the waves crashing upon the shore, the smell of the salt and the blistering of my skin. It's Heaven on Earth. It's Heaven on Earth. I hope to marry upon the beach one day when I do marry, to have my husband and I in the same place I consider Heaven on Earth. I love too much and perhaps too deeply, never take anything for granted and always remember where it came from. I have a love of cats, I have 2, and do what I can for all of the strays wondering around, wether it be a meal, a brief moment of love and appreciation for their existence, or a warm porch to sleep on. I love them! Creatures of God!

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn’t raised in religion but I knew God and the devil, I knew of heaven and of hell, but had no formal central religion. I’ve always had this fascination as my mom says to the Mormon church, even as a small girl around 7 I would like when the missionaries came by and would speak of the gospel and I my mom just recently told me we kept The Book of Mormon on the coffee table for quite a while. Being a Mormon makes me a better person who has a solid core of understanding, faith and love for myself as well as others, which is something I never had before I became a Mormon. I can stand tall in negative situations and ward off negative energy something I'd tried so hard to do with Dr's and prescriptions! Who knew! The Book of Mormon was the best prescription of my life? I view the world, others and situations with a whole new view, I see the good and press forward with it, I felt a freeing of my soul occur the minute I came out of the baptism waters. I truly could start over and I DID! I let go of the past and the past let go of me, I am no longer who I was. Bring those burdens that you carry, close to your lips, one by one, let your breath warm them, as you whisper your thanks, tell them that you love them, kiss them on the cheek and say goodbye, and that for me was baptism. Being a Mormon you don't need someone to complete you any longer, you now accept yourself completely and God does too! I have found that love is not an emotion, it is essence. It is who you are, emotions are your humanity, love is your divinity. When I tell you Heavenly Father loves you, it comes from my very being. I know that Heavenly Father loves us, Joseph Smith was picked to be our true prophet on Earth to restore this Gospel, and that Thomas S. Monson is our true living prophet on Earth who receives messages from God.

How I live my faith

Although I have no callings at this time I do like to be a part of my ward and even outside of the ward. My most favorite thing to do is to go out with the Sister Missionaries to teach other and even members of the church, the feeling of being able to have a positive effect on others lives in almost breathtaking. Charity is always important to me, Do to others as you would have them do to you (Luke 6:31). Take the few extra minutes and do something nice for someone, send them a simple card to let them know you care, you'd be amazed to know how far that goes. A the ever wise Elder Orson F. Whitney once said: “The spirit of the gospel is optimistic; it trusts in God and looks on the bright side of things. The opposite or pessimistic spirit drags men down and away from God, looks on the dark side, murmurs, complains, and is slow to yield obedience. I try to always be that optimistic person, who trust in God and always looks on the bright side of things. Before coming to the church I was always that pessimistic person who was dragged down and away from God, always murmuring and complaining and never to yield to any obedience. This Gospel and Heavenly Father have saved my life, and if I can turn one soul unto the Lord I have repaid him in every realm of love possible. Mostly I want to show everyone that we believe in Christ and love him immensely and strive to be like him every single day we are here on Earth, and that he does love you more than you could ever imagine, this was something I never fully understood before the Gospel. I am a child of God and he loves me so much! I try and be cautious with my words for they can be venomous instead of loving and reassuring.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Because to us, a Temple is the most scared place on Earth we can go, it is so holy and precious that we protect it, and it is often mocked by many and this is why we protect it and the life of it to our best abilities. Show more Show less
