Hi I'm Hagan

I'm from Nephi, UT. I enjoy dist. running. I'm an Eagle Scout. I love technology & science and my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I am serving a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I entered the MTC October 16 and will soon leave to the Illinois, Chicago mission. To prepare for my service as a missionary my grandmother one of my cousins and I traveled to New York to see where the church was founded to increase my faith. When I was younger my family was sealed in the salt lake temple. I have been a lifeguard and a swim instructor I greatly enjoyed doing these things. I like to longboard, skateboard and ride bikes. In high school I ran on the cross country team and was a member of our speech and debate team for three years. At the age of seventeen I became an Eagle Scout.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the blessings I received when I decided to give up the friends I had who had been bad influences. I also had my faith increase when I traveled to New York and saw the monument on the top of the hill comorah that has on it the testimony of the three witnesses and the testimony of the eight witnesses. When I saw that monument I was struck by the sudden realization that those men testified of the truth of the Book of Mormon and were persecuted because of it and some of them died because of it, some of them left the lds church but not one of them ever revoked or took back their testimony of its truth. Even when their lives were threatened, if it were anything other than true they would have revoked their testimonies, but instead, they were persecuted and they were driven from their homes and they died because it was and is without question true.

How I live my faith

Currently I have been called to serve a mission in the Chicago, Illinois mission. When I was eight years old I was baptized and became a member of the church. When I was twelve years old I received the aaronic priesthood and was ordained a deacon (a calling that brings with it certain responsibilities such as passing the sacrament each Sunday). When I turned 14 I was ordained a teacher (a calling that brings with it new responsibilities in addition to those of a deacon such as preparing the sacrament). When I turned 16 I was ordained a priest (a calling that carries the responsibilities of a deacon and of a teacher as well as the responsibility to bless the sacrament). I have not always had a sure faith in the church when I was about 13 or 14 I made some friends who discouraged me from going to church and made it difficult for me to have the spirit but as I got to know them better I realized the effect they were having and removed myself from them and it was a hard thing for me to do because at the time I had no other friends, however I was blessed to receive an acquaintance that would later turn into one of my greatest friendships.
