Hi I'm Amy

I am currently in college. I love to sing. I work in a chocolate shop. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Amy and I am currently a student in College. There I get to make a lot of fun things with chocolate. When I am not working and don't have school, I love to hang out with my friends, listen to music, watch movies. I love older movies such as Breakfast at Tiffany's, Anything with Doris Day in it, and any type of musical. I am currently preparing to serve a mission. I have been called to serve in the lovely state of Washington.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It was translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith to help us in these latter days. I know that Jesus Christ came and atoned for our sins and that through the process of repentance we can be made clean. A long time ago, I was to the point where I felt so alone. I had sinned against our Father in Heaven and I believed that he didn't care about me. But one Sunday I was sitting in church and, ironically, the meeting was on Repentance. The speaker said that it is NEVER to late to repent. That God still loves you and cares deeply about each and every one of us. After that meeting I had worked up enough confidence to talk to my Bishop. We set up an appointment for us to talk about it. During the meeting, he pulled out the bible and read from Isaiah 1:18. It says, "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool." As we sat and talked about how through repentance my sins could be washed away, I felt this overwhelming peace inside of me. At that moment, I knew that our Heavenly Father loved me. In our lives we will mess up. But just know that no matter what you do, no matter how bad it is you will always be able to repent. I am a Mormon because of this. I am a Mormon because of the peace that I feel whenever I read the scriptures or pray.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by follow Jesus' example. Jesus taught us to love everyone and that is what I try to do. You cannot judge someone by how they look. They may be going through something that we don't know about. This is why you must be willing to accept others as they are. I live my faith by reading my scriptures daily. Having this time by myself to ponder the scriptures really helps prepare me for my day. Currently I have been reading from Preach my Gospel as I am getting ready to serve my mission for the church. When I study the scriptures it helps me put things into perspective and draw closer to our Heavenly Father.
