Hi I'm Grant Evelyn

I'm 19 years old. I love to unicycle, wakeboard, snowboard and anything else active, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

Since I was young, I have loved being outside. In the mountains, at the beach, or just in my backyard. When I was about 4 years old, I went waterskiing for the first time. I actually was on my dads shoulders as he skied, but ever since then I have loved waterskiing and wakeboarding. My favorite things to do are to salomon ski, and to wakeboard. This past summer I actually learned to do a backflip! Since I was fifteen, I have worked to support my wants. I bought my own clothing, paid for the Gas in my car, and everything else that I wanted. I have kind of thought that life can be hard as I have seen my friends getting everything and not having to work for it, but I don't regret having to work for the things that I have, when I really think about it. I like working hard, it makes me appreciate the things I have even more.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon...? When I was younger, I never questioned why I was a mormon, I just... was. However, when I was about 15, I wasn't able to just accept what my parents believed as my own any more. I had to find out for myself. The first thing that I remembered learning, if I wanted to know for my self was reading the Book of Mormon, so I decided to read it. Honestly, I didn't feel any differently when I finished the book. I had had it read to me since I was like two... but there was one part that I hadn't really noticed before. In Moroni 10: 4-5 it reads, "And when ye shall recieve these things[ reading the BoM ], I would exhort you that ye would ask God the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."All it asked was to ask God with real intent, and so I prayed to know. The feelings that I felt were amazing, and undeniable, the Book of Mormon was true, and because that was true everything else also had to be true also. Now that I have gotten older, I have really learned to appreciate what my parents have taught me, but I appreciate the Gospel even more. It makes me happy, and I promise it can make you happy too.

How I live my faith

When I turned 12, I was immediately introduced into church oriented service. In our ward over the years, I have acted as the youth leader over all the 12-13 yr old boys, 14-15 yr old boys, and even over the 16-18 yr old boys. I taught some lessons at church, planned and led in service activities, and to just had fun with all the boys, week after week. Since I was 14, my dad and I would go to two families within our ward and visit and share messages of Christ and his Gospel. I have learned to love those families as I have served them.
