Hi I'm Ally

I'm an avid adventurer, world traveler, and humanitarian. I love learning and making music and art. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love to learn and to experience. I've been obsessed with learning about and traveling to new countries and cultures for as long as I can remember. I've traveled throughout Africa, Asia and Europe, and have many plans for future travel! A few months ago I finished my Undergraduate Degree from BYU in History with an emphasis in African History. One of my greatest passions is International Development work, and I've done internships and volunteer work in Uganda and Thailand. I am about to embark on my greatest Development experience: serving a full-time LDS mission in the Thailand, Bangkok mission! I could not be more excited to go back to that wonderful country to share my beliefs with the amazing people there. My family and my religion are the most important things to me, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to spread the gospel to families in Thailand!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ is true. I know this with all of my heart. I've had a spiritual confirmation, in my heart, mind and soul, that has testified the truthfulness of this gospel. I'm a Mormon because when I am living the gospel, I am much happier than when I am not. The contrast is night and day. When I follow the teachings of the Church of of Jesus Christ, I am filled with peace. Even while experiences tremendous trials and times of great sadness, the gospel fills me with hope and love and the ability to endure my hardships with patience and joy. There is no other way I could live my life and experience greater happiness. I know that this church is true. I know that I am a child of a loving Heavenly Father. I know that he loves me no matter what I do. I know that He is always by my side, He is always calling me with open arms, and wants to bless and guide my life. I know that He cares about my most intimate feelings and the most insignificant details of my life. I know that He has a Plan of Salvation and Happiness for every one of His children and that by obeying his commandments and coming unto Him we can overcome any trial, be with our families for eternity, and live in His presence and glory.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through my daily actions. Serving others is one of the ways I feel the most joy and ability to demonstrate my faith. I try to serve faithfully in my callings. My most recent calling was a special and unique one. I was called to be the special friend of a special needs boy in my ward. I grew very close to this sweet spirit and loved being able to help him in any way that I could. My new calling will be to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary in the Thailand, Bangkok mission. I will serve the people there for 18 months, preaching the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ and serving the people with all of my heart.
