Hi I'm Jeffrey Taylor

I just finished high school. I'm going to college after my mission. I'm a Mormon

About Me

One of my most passionate hobbies is ballroom dancing throughout my last three years if I haven't been at school or at home it would be a pretty safe bet to say I was at my dance studio. For me it's a great way to release any stress that may have accumulated through the day and it's a way to get out and meet new people. Very frequently when dancing with a new person they ask me what my favorite dance is and I can honestly say I don't have a clear favorite. I love doing all dances that fall under the category of ballroom because they are all unique and different from each other.

Why I am a Mormon

when I was a young child my mother felt that it was very important to attend church and we subsequently attended a Methodist church every Sunday without fail. At the age of four my father passed away from cancer and this only brought us closer to the church and it's teachings. To make a long story short my Mom remarried to my stepfather who at the time was very inactive in the Mormon church. However my Mom still felt it very important that we attend church as a family. My step father however did not want to attend the Methodist church because "I've taken calculus I'm not going back to basic math". So instead of him going to the Methodist church we began attending the Mormon church which reactivated my stepfather in the process (I was about seven at the time). Even though we attended the church a long time we were never baptized even though we lived all the teachings. One night during family home evening my sister and I asked our mom why we hadn't been baptized yet (I was now eleven my sister ten) she asked us if we knew it was true. Our reply to this was yes but we were waiting for her (we did not know at the time that we didn't have to wait) because of that all three of us took the missionary discussions and were then baptized into the church. I was young at that point and hadn't read the book of Mormon but since that time I have been able to read it prayerfully and I have a strong testimony that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It was translated by Joseph Smith Who saw God the Father and his so Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. I also believe that the true church has been restored and that President Monson is a true prophet of God. In the Name of our redeemer even Jesus Christ amen.

How I live my faith

One of the biggest ways that I have lived my faith has been through my role as the area youth committee co-chair. Being in this position allowed me to help oversee and plan all activities that would be centered around the youth year round. These activities could vary from planing a dance to figuring out a theme for church camp but being able to participate with this group as a co-chair has definitely increased my ability to lead others. Another one of the ways that I live my faith is through home teaching. Home teaching is a monthly event when my father and I go out to families we have been assigned to to visit with them. Our purpose while doing this is to share a brief gospel message but along with that check in on how they are doing and see if they could use any help either from us or from the church. This has really increased my love for the people in the church as I have traveled around and seen the amazing faith that they exude as they lives their lives with the gospel.
