Hi I'm Larry

I grew up in Utah. I've lived in Arizona, France, & Switzerland. I'm a husband, father and, grandfather. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a dad and a grandpa. I enjoy jogging, hiking, mountain biking, gardening, and family activities. I served in the Army National Guard for 20 years, and retired as a Major in 1989. I retired from AT&T with 43 years of service in 2013. I speak french.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that we are all children on our Heavenly Father. God loves us and he wants us to be happy. He has created this world for us to learn to make good choices and to help one another. I believe that the traditional family is ordained of God and is the most important institution on earth. That is where the greatest joy and happiness can be experienced. I believe that we lived with God before we came to this earth, and that we will have the opportunity to return and live with him as eternal families, if we follow his commandments. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he established his gospel here on the earth, during his mortal ministry. I believe that there was a great apostasy after Christ's death, and the death of his apostles. I believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been reestablished on the earth today, with living apostles and prophets and with Priesthood Authority. The first prophet of this dispensation was the Prophet Joseph Smith. There is a living prophet today, Thomas S Monson. I have a spiritual confirmation of these truths. I have personally experienced the great joy that comes from living the principles of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

In our congregation, I serve as one of the leaders of a group of fellow priesthood holders called "High Priests". My wife and I are Home Teachers (Shepherds) to three other families in our congregation. We serve as volunteer hosts/tour guides two days a week, at our church's Conference Center in Salt Lake City. We serve one day a week in our church Temple in Provo, Utah. My wife and I served for 18 months as volunteer missionaries in Madagascar, from 2014 to 2015. What an amazing and humbling experience! We recently volunteered again, and were called to serve as missionaries in Seoul Korea for 18 months. We are looking forward to another special opportunity to serve and to love God's children there.
