Hi I'm Sammi Naef

I grew up out in the country North of Pasco, Washington. I like to work hard and play harder and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate from BYU-Idaho where I studied Public Relations. I love to play, watch, and coach sports. Sports can help relieve so much stress and keep a person healthy. Volleyball, Softball, and football are my favorite sports. My family is my life. I am the second to youngest of eight kids and have 23 nieces and nephews. My nieces and nephews are my best friends, I love to be with them. Being around people and making them laugh brightens my day. I love to see happy people and seeing them enjoying life. My favorite is having a BBQ while playing games like slip n' slide kickball, football, and some frisbee. In the summers I love to go boating! I love the holidays and the spirit that fills the air as people are joyful.

Why I am a Mormon

Life is hard, and it seems to get harder the older you get. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has helped me through these hard times. This is because it has taught me who I am and that I have a purpose. I couldn't imagine going through life not knowing and understanding who I am and my purpose. This knowledge makes the hard times bearable because I know I will make it through. The church also teaches that it is never too late to come back. You can never be too far gone, there is always a way back. Because I am loved by my Heavenly Father, he wants what is best for me, he will provide the way. I believe that and know that it is true. I am his daughter. We are all his children and through his Atonement we can repent and be forgiven of all that we have done wrong. Then we can return and live with him again. How amazing is that, to be able to live with him again! I know this church is true. I can't deny it, because every time I go to church I feel my Savior's love and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love to serve in my church and they give several opportunities. I have had the opportunity to serve and lead the single women that are members in my area. Together we plan activities that help us become better women, such as learning crafts, cooking skills, Zumba and becoming physically healthy, and service projects such as gathering school supplies for foster children. It has given me so many opportunities to help my community and those around me. We also have what we call visiting teaching, where women of the church go visit and share a spiritual thought with each other. Through this I have made friendships that will last forever. It helps you to go and meet someone you probably wouldn't have otherwise. You get to share your life with each other. It is all about lifting and strengthening when needed. I have had many experiences where someone has needed a friend and my companion and I have been there to help and lift them up in their time of need. It's amazing to see the Lord work through you to let his children know that he loves and cares for them.

What is faith?

Sammi Naef
Faith is believing in something that you can not see. It's like taking a step into the dark but trusting and believing that everything is going to be ok. Faith is something that starts small and as it is practiced it becomes larger and stronger. Show more Show less
