Hi I'm Gloria Vindas

I am a wife to my wonderful husband of eighteen years and a mom of four children and my family means the world to me!

About Me

I am 38 years old. I've been a Property Manager in the same city that I grew up in for the past fifteen years. Which made it possible for me to be able to be at home and earn a salary while raising our four children. My oldest daughter is 20 years old and she was married last year. My second oldest daughter is 19 and she still lives at home and attends college. My 16 year old is my first son and he is in 11th grade and preparing to serve a mission when he turns 18. And lastly I have a 9 year old that is quite a handful but such a joy. My husband is a Tile contractor and has had his own business for the past 17 years. I grew up in the church but grew inactive at the age of 13. I did not raise my children in the LDS Church but we were very active in a Evangelical Church for the past 18 years. That was until last year when our lives changed dramatically due to major life events that rocked our world and lives forever. One thing I know is that Our Heavenly Father lets us go through very hard trials and tribulations to help direct you to where He wants you to be, and He is always faithful to see you through any storm. And for that I am grateful. I hope to be able to share the story with everyone.

Why I am a Mormon

After the tragic events of last year, it made me begin to reflect all my worldviews and everything I thought I knew began to crumble. The tragedies made my entire family question the very foundation which we had built our lives upon. The Holy Ghost began to do a work in me and pressed the LDS Church on my heart so strongly that no matter how hard I tried to fight and resist the Church, the stronger the Spirit impressed it upon me. Until one day I yielded and submitted unto our Heavenly Father and begged for Him to show me the way to go. Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Matthew 7:7. And so I did ask, seek, and knock and the answer was clear as day, and at that very moment I knew that I needed to return to the faith of my youth and renew the covenants I had made as a child. I have now been active for a little more than five months now and it is the BEST feeling in the whole world to be home and re-learning the fundamentals of the restored Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to follow the commandments and to try to follow God's will and not my own. Often times I realize that by just living life with happiness and joy whether in good times or bad it conveys a stronger testimony than words. "By there fruits ye shall know them" and that is how I try to live my life and show my faith. Charity and love towards all of God's children, rather than judging them, is a great way for me express my faith. People just want to feel accepted and loved and if we can show the love of Christ to others (including our enemies) our testimonies will grow and other will see the Light of Christ in us. Hospitality is also another way I try to live my faith. Everyone knows that our door is always open and we will love all those who enter in our home. Whether it be just a warm hug or a hot meal, we try to make everyone feel that our home is a place of refuge for the soul. It's not a perfect home, but everyone is welcome.
