Hi I'm Emma

I find joy in the journey. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Emma Black. I have lived in Utah my entire life. I am the 5th child of 6. I have loving supportive friends and families whom are all wonderful examples to me in my life. My parents were divorced when I was 9 years old. My 2 older brothers are in/ have been in the United States Marine Corps. My 2 older sisters are both currently studying at BYU, Provo. My younger brother is a Junior in High school. I am the 6th member in my family to serve an LDS mission! I'm so excited I feel like my heart is ready to burst! My father served in Lisbon, Portugal. My Mum served in Stockholm, Sweden. My oldest brother served in Melbourne Australia. My 2nd brother served in Rio De Janerio, Brazil. My older sister Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And I will be serving in Cape Verde, Praia Mission! My heart is already so full of love for the people I will be meeting and serving!

Why I am a Mormon

I love the savior Jesus Christ with all my heart. I have made decisions in my past and found myself lost from his teachings. With the help and love of the Lord, I have been able to find joy in the journey and peace in my heart. I know that we are all children of a Heavenly Father and that he loves and knows each one of us! I am a Mormon, because I have never been happier in life as I am when I am living the teachings of the church. I know the teachings and covenants I have made to my Father in Heaven help me to be a better and joyful person. I love this gospel. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to help those around me, and the people I will serve in Cape Verde, to feel the love our Father in Heaven has for them. I am a Mormon, and I love it.

How I live my faith

I am currently a visiting teacher, a student, a church weekday activity organizer, and a friend in my ward and community. I share the gospel with those around me by example, showing my love and appreciation for the teaching and principles of Jesus Christ.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Emma
I think everyone has felt that time in their life when they feel as if "No one else could possibly understand!" This applies to feelings, circumstances, actions..basically everything. I know from personal experience that the more I study the Scriptures, Pray to my Father in Heaven, try to be Christlike, and live the teachings of the gospel, that I can feel the Love my Father in Heaven has for me and everyone around me! By trying to be like him, we can become closer to him. Heavenly Father is ALWAYS there. He knows and understands each of us even more so than we understand ourselves. If we strive to, we can feel his love, and come to know him on a personal level. Show more Show less
