Hi I'm Kyle Smith

I am 18 years old and eager to serve a mission in Ogden Utah. I love baseball, archery, music, my family and the gospel.

About Me

I am number seven of the eight kids in my family. I have five sisters and two brothers. I also have seven, going on eight, neices and nephew. I received my Eagle Scout when I was 16 years old and because I enjoy the scout program so much, I continued with Scouts until recently. I was also received into the Order of the Arrow when I was 14. I enjoyed all the opportunities I had to serve my community and learn more about the legacy of the Scout program. I played baseball for 8 years after spending many years before watching and cheering my older brothers on. My main position on the team was catcher and I loved it. I also loved being part of a team. Learning to cheer others on and be a mentor to younger teammates was a fun and uplifting experience for me. I spent the last year helping coach a local team that consisted of boys from my ward Young Mens group. A new hobby I have taken up is bowling. I was part of a bowling club this last year and enjoyed learning a new sport. I spent six years in a non-denominational christian choir, The Maranatha Gospel Choir. The choir spent a lot of time traveling up and down the east coast performing at churches, libraries, malls, and even a prison. It was a great gift to be able to share my testimony of Christ through music. In regards to music, I come from a musically talented family. I love to sing and I also play the guitar proficiently.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ and have always been faithful. I love this Church for it has done many things for me. I'd like to share my testimony that I know this church is true. That it is the church of God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that we have a Prophets today to guide us back to Heavenly Father. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it is another testament of Christ and his earthly ministries. I believe in the power of the priesthood and how it can bless others in their lives. I believe in baptism, that it is one of the steps to return to God. I believe in the temple ordinances and the importance of them. I bear these things to you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have served as patrol leader, Senior patrol leader and vice patrol leader in my scout troop, I am a member of the Order of the Arrow in scouting, I have served in youth leadership positions in the young men's program of the church. I have helped with many service projects in and out of the church, such as cutting, splitting and stacking wood, raking leaves, picking up trash, loading buses for cub scouts, food drives, OA ordeals, I have help my fellow youth in achieving their Eagle scout rank. Service is fundamental to living a Christ like life.
