Hi I'm Robert Blake Chambers

I serve my country and my God with dedication and loyalty. I am a Mormon 'convert' and more of a Christian than ever!

About Me

I am 29 years old and was born in North Carolina. I lived with several family members growing up after my parents' divorce at age 1. After graduating high school in 2002, I bounced around from job to job, until I found the US Army in 2009. I have served 3 years active duty and am now serving in, and working full-time for, the National Guard. I am married, no kids, only the ones my wife and I teach in Sunday School. I used to race motocross but sold my bike prior to heading off to Basic Combat Training. I don't get to ride much anymore, though I still like the sport. I like fitness (military, SpecOps style), outdoors, fishing, and spending time with my wonderful wife. I read a lot of church history books and scripture and me and my wife watch comedy, animation, and family movies, as well as old T.V. series. So, there's plenty more, but that's good for now. I love people so if you have questions or want to chat, let me know!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? The answer is simple. Like many others, I struggled with finding the 'right' church to go to. I grew up Baptist but soon found out how different so many Baptist churches operated and how different the doctrines were from one to another. I then became 'Non- Denominational'. When I met my current wife she introduced me to the Book of Mormon. I read it, studied it, prayed about it, pondered it, earnestly sought for the truth and the Holy Spirit testified to me of it's truthfullness before I ever spoke to a missionary or went to the church. After that I was Baptized into the church, as I learned more and more and continued to get spiritual confirmations on it's truthfulness. I had to defend my position against my entire Baptist family and had struggled with a few things they said. But I have done what the Lord requires. I lacked wisdom, and I went to God, who gives to all men liberally, and all of the answers have been given to me. I still read, and study and pray on a daily basis and I get to interact with people who are not of my faith and through all the times that I have had to discuss 'Mormonism', my faith has multiplied and multiplied again. My faith in the true doctrine of Jesus Christ is so strong that there is no man or woman or thing on this earth that could take me away from the knowledge that my Father in Heaven has given me through my humble and diligent quest for truth. Because of the wisdom and knowledge that has been given to me, and that continues and will forever continue to be given to me, I now understand life, the Holy Bible, my purpose, your purpose, the nature of the Godhead, the Atonement of Jesus Christ, the plan of Salvation, what He requires of me and you, what He wants for me and you, and how much He loves us.... Infinitely Everything :) I am a Mormon and will never be anything else. I thank God every day and night for allowing me the opportunity to know the whole truth; and for the faith and courage He has given me.

How I live my faith

I was just ordained an Elder in the church as of 20 October, 2013 during the Stake Conference. My wife and I are 'Primary 10-11 year old Sunday School Teachers'. We absolutely love our kids. We found the LDS Scriptures smartphone app and listen to Old Testament, New Testament and Book of Mormon scriptures on audio on a daily basis. We share a car when driving an hour to work and dont listen to music, we listen to General Conference talks by our leaders in the church because they are so enlightening and help bring the Holy Spirit into our marriage. We listen to contemperary christian music on the radio when we are getting ready to go somewhere. We are currently reading 'The Work and the Glory', and amazing historical novel on the church's history. We kneel in prayer morning and night, and say several prayers together and apart throughout the day. Among other things ;) It may seem as though we might live a boring life with so much church stuff going on, but on the contrary, we are happier than we ever have been in our lives. And we still find plenty of time to make it outdoors and hike and workout and fish. Speaking of fish, we also catch a date at a Sushi restaurant once a month ;)
