Hi I'm Cale Bloskas

I'm a convert. I was born and raised in West Texas. I'm serving a mission in Lansing, MI. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small West Texas town, right outside of Lubbock, and spent most of my time growing up playing sports and hanging out with friends. I started school at a university here in Texas and am pursing a mass communications degree with an emphasis in public relations. I have also had the opportunity to do sports broadcasting for my university and have enjoyed using my talents to do something that I love. I grew up Church of Christ before becoming a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and converting to the church in March 2013. I am now serving a mission in Lansing, Michigan. After I get home from my mission I plan to finish my degree and start my career doing something that I love.

Why I am a Mormon

There is nothing that has brought me more joy than being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Coming from a strong Christian background before I converted to the church, I was comforted knowing that I was not going against anything I grew up believing but was building upon the solid foundation I had built throughout my life. This gospel has brought me so much more joy and peace in my life than I ever could have imagined. It has been able to give me direction for my life and answers to questions that I had always wondered about. When meeting with missionaries I realized that the only true way to find out if this was the only true church of Jesus Christ with the fullness of his teachings and his authority on the Earth was to pray about it. This experience was one of the greatest things to happen to me and is something that I want everyone to have the opportunity to experience. I would never want someone to take my word for it because then they would miss out on the opportunity to have the Holy Ghost confirm to them the truthfulness of this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly trying to be better every single day. I feel like that if I wake up every morning and decide to work on being more like Jesus then I am on the right track. I try to be an example to all of those around me and hope that others are able to see Christ through me in everything I do. I constantly realize that I am not perfect but have joy in knowing that the Christ meets me where I am and works with me to constantly progress to be more like him. I am thankful for my parents raising me to develop my own personal relationship with Jesus Christ and for allowing me to grow in that relationship by following his direction and purpose for my life. I enjoy serving others and try to allow myself to have charity for all of those that I encounter.

Are Mormons Christians?

Cale Bloskas
Mormons are Christians in the purest sense of the word. Everything we do in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints revolves around the teachings of Jesus Christ and his example for us on how to live our lives. Jesus Christ is the most important and perfect man to walk the earth and is our Savior and our Redeemer. It is because of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ that we know that we are able to return to live with our Father in Heaven. There is a verse in The Book of Mormon that explains just how important Christ is to our faith: "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." (2 Nephi 25:26) As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we pray and worship in the name of Jesus Christ. He is the head of our Church and the center of our faith.
