Hi I'm Paige

I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm a student at Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read, voice my opinion, keep up with current events, and get active. I grew up swimming competitively, and I love to do just about anything that involves getting in water. I also love to get involved in programs and activities that let me debate. I attended an academic magnet school during middle and high school, and am currently a college student at Brigham Young University and plan on attending law school after graduating. Despite the typical ideologies of those that surround me, I am a Democrat. As long as there is a moral foundation that guides every choice, diversity is powerful and I'm proud to contribute to constructive diversity in my community and church. I hope to eventually use my education and life experiences to help women, children, and families in developing countries.

Why I am a Mormon

What can I say? I love being a Mormon! I love the power and light that pours into my life every time I read the Book of Mormon. Having the guidance of living apostles and prophets is unbelievably reassuring and enlightening. I have many family members and friends that do not share my faith. Being constantly exposed to the ideas and lifestyles of others has been monumental in cementing my appreciation for my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While I know that there are many good, upstanding people of all different faiths and ideologies, I know as well that the level of personal peace and continual guidance from my Heavenly Father can only come from having the companionship of the Holy Ghost and being blessed by Christ's priesthood authority. Because I know these things, and because I know the Book of Mormon is true, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet chosen of God to restore Christ's church on the earth. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and my personal Savior. I have tasted the fruit of His church. It is sweeter than anything else I have ever tasted and there's no going back.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving an 18-month mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Las Vegas, Nevada - specifically with the Spanish-speaking people. Before serving a mission, I worked with a group of girls ages 14-15 in our church. I hope that I will always be willing to serve my Savior in any capacity that He asks me to. I firmly believe that involvement in the community is equally important to God as any religious duty. Before serving my mission, I was very active in the political organizations, local justice system, and high school debate programs available to me, and loved to speak out about the topics that mattered most to me. I strive to be equally involved in every community that I live in. Volunteering to help the needy and being a cause for societal well-being is one of my chief concerns.
