Hi I'm Shawn Bennion

My name is Shawn Bennion, born and raised in Perry, Utah and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My whole life in a nutshell has practically been listening to music religiously. I feel as though I can never go a day without at least a tune in my head. A huge priority of mine indeed, but it's occurred to me how much more important the church is to me and how i'd rather be productive with it by choosing to serve a mission. I've been called to the California, Rancho Cucamonga mission and will report to the Provo mtc on January 15th, 2014. This is without a doubt the best decision i've made in my entire life and I cannot wait to wear God's name on my sleeve if you will. Patience hasn't been a strong characteristic of mine, but in a short amount of time, I will be set apart as a full time missionary and am looking forward to it so much.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I don't want to go a single day without a knowledge of this restored church. I have witnessed the most incredible things as I gave myself the desire to learn and starting preparing for a mission. I've witnessed miracles and felt the most exquisite joy that Alma has preached of as I gave so much of my time to get to where I am. My testimony has always been with me, but was dwindling at one point as everyone else's does at some point. Realizing that that was the darkest time in my life, questioning doctrine and aspects of the gospel, etc was not a regular occurrence I wanted to encounter. But now, having a solid testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints makes me confident enough to say that this is the restored Gospel. It is a huge blessing to be apart of that I would love to share with everybody. It provides so much comfort and guidance, one that you won't find in any other church. Being Mormon is so important to me and I can only hope that if you are reading this, you are able to find out for yourself the joys that I have felt as I developed a stronger love and passion for this church.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving in the Rancho Cucamonga, California mission and there is not a single doubt in my mind that I am, nor ever will be misguided as long as I am committed to submitting myself to our Father's will. Ecclesiastes 3:1 states that there is a purpose for everything under Heaven, and throughout my mission, I've noticed that every little thing does serve a purpose. While helping Moses 1:39 travel to the hearts of many, my sound understanding of a loving Heavenly Father remains close to my heart as I assure others how much He wants to secure our happiness during this probationary state to feel but the slightest degree of exaltation. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ accordingly and attempting to have the countenance of Christ illuminate as I walk amongst all in my path is how I live my faith day by day and can only hope I resemble Jesus Christ and others look at me as a servant and a steward to this perfect and restored Gospel that I feel so honored to cheerfully share to anyone willing to listen.
