Hi I'm Megan

I'm an Oklahoma girl. I love roller coasters, four wheelers, country music and all things sports. I love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up playing softball, basketball, golf, tumbling, doing cheerleading, and running track. I love to snow board, wakeboard, water ski, tubbing and anything active. I love to spend time with those I care about. I love serving others, hunting with my dad, and doing crafts with my mom. I grew up in the mission field where my sisters and I were the only active Mormons in my high school. When I wen to college, I was again in the minority as the only active Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my entire life. My mom joined the church when she was 15 years old. She married a non member but made it clear to him that she would raise her kids in the Mormon church. My dad said that would be fine as long as his kids weren't taught anything he disagreed with, and 10 years after my parents were married my dad was baptized. I was only 4 1/2 at the time so I don't really remember my dad not being a member. I have had a testimony my entire life. I know that this church is true and that the priesthood has been restored to the Earth through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is the testament of him visiting his brothers and sisters in America. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet on the Earth today. I know that he has all of the keys to lead and guide this church the way that Heavenly Father would have it lead. I have faith that God lives and I know that he loves us. He is a just God that wants to forgive us. I know that if we are willing to really go through the repentance process and have godly sorrow for what we have done, we can be forgiven. I know that I am not perfect, but Jesus Christ was the only perfect person to ever live here on Earth. I know that Christ died on the cross for me and every other person on this Earth so that we can be forgiven. I know that if a perfect man could suffer for all of our sins, we can take the time to really repent of our sins. I know that this is the true church, without a shadow of a doubt in my mind. I'm a Mormon. I know it. I live it. I love it.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed to be the President of my age groups when I was 12-13, 14-15, and 16-18. When I moved to college I was given the calling of teaching the 3 and 4 year old children's Sunday school class. I have recently been called to serve as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and that is what I am currently doing.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Megan
Heavenly Father has given us everything we have, and in return he has asked us to give 10% of our income back to him. We receive blessings for this act of faith. I believe that as we give him the 10% every time without hesitation, he blesses us to be able to make due with the rest of our money. This is call the Law of Tithing. Our money is taken to build temples of God and many humanitarian needs around the world. However, it does not go to pay the leaders in our church. Show more Show less
