Hi I'm Matt Johnson

I grew up in Orem, Utah. I am a lacrosse player and a huge skier. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college freshman student at the great institution of BYU. I love to serve and bring smiles to others' faces through humor and having a good time. I am a huge skier and love to shred in the winter while long boarding in the summer. A solid adrenaline rush is all ways a good time! Music is a passion of mine, I love to all ways have the stereo up. I am also an athlete , I played lacrosse throughout my high school years and love to follow professional sports. The automobile is another passion of mine. Nothing is better than learning about newly innovated models and personally brainstorming ways to improve them for the future.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it creates the lifestyle that I want to live. I have religion a part of me throughout everyday. The gospel provides me with peace and comfort throughout my daily bumps in the road. It helps me look at life in an overall optimistic way. I enjoy getting up in the morning knowing there is a purpose to my life here on Earth. Being a Mormon we focus a lot on service and it is a great opportunity to help out others as much as possible. Service then brings me a feeling of love that carries with me throughout the rest of the day. I am a Mormon because there is all ways somebody to turn to when I am need. My testimony has grown from an experience when I lost my ski in many feet of powder and genuinely prayed to my Father in heaven to help me find it before the ski resort closes. Within a few minutes my prayer was answered, I found my ski and was able to return back to the base of the ski resort before the daylight ceased.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and participate in various activities throughout the week. I serve as a church teacher and also home teach once a month. My faith is with me wherever I am. I constantly have a prayer in my heart throughout the day and my faith is not only a part of my week but it is a part of me.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Matt Johnson
We can increase our faith by small steps everyday. If we read a few more scriptures and pray more genuinely and serve more faithfully than the previous day than our faith will grow. We need to continue to do spiritually uplifting activities so our faith does not run dry. Show more Show less
