Hi I'm Robin

I grew up in Toronto, Canada. I'm working on a degree online and raising a family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was in management for several years but I'm now currently unemployed and training to be a school bus driver...something different. I like to cook, crochet and draw. I just completed a baby blanket for someone special and starting working on a new one. I'm working on my degree online also.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 22 years old in my hometown of Toronto. At that time, I was feeling like I wanted to know who God was and what that meant for me. I knew who Jesus Christ was, but never really understood my relationship with God. I was searching for solace, peace and answers to what my purpose was on this earth. I also wanted to be happier. One ordinary day, a knock came to my door and when I opened it, two young Mormon missionaries stood there. I invited them in and they began to share with me a message about Jesus Christ and the restored gospel. It made me feel so good. I wanted to know more, so I met with them again. On the third visit, as they were teaching me about Joseph Smith, I noticed a book next to them that became my focal point and I knew that I had to have that book! I asked them about it and they gave it to me. It was the Book of Mormon! I was so excited I began reading it as soon as I got on the subway to go home. As I read it, I felt excited, anxious to know more, and didn't want to put it down for any reason. I kept reading and began feeling like this book was true. I learned that God was my literal Father in Heaven and he had a plan for me and that was to return to him after this life, that If I followed the messages in the Book of Mormon, I would in fact be able to return to my Father in Heaven again and I could be happy while on this earth. When I completed the Book of Mormon, I knew it was true more than anything I ever knew before. I asked the Missionaries to baptize me and from then on I have been more than happy, I have been blessed. I know the Book of Mormon is the word or God and it has a powerful message and every day that I read it I am filled with that same feeling I had then. It is true!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading my scriptures each day, praying alone and with my family. I also participate in the church choir because it helps me feel Jesus love in my life. I help out whenever I'm asked and that gives me opportunities to grow and serve. This past Sunday I conducted the music with the youth, ages 5-12. That was a lot of fun!pp

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Robin
Mormon's live just like everyone else, we work, have families, have hobbies and go to church. Church is a part of our everyday lives, not just a Sunday practice. We are devoted to living like Jesus Christ every day and make the promise that we will every Sunday. Mormon's are devoted to families and try to live in such a way that preserves the family and family values. We have a family home evening night set aside each week to spend with our families, teaching and having fun times together. Mormon's believe that families are eternal and can go into the next life, if we live according to God's will here on earth. Mormon's are fun people, love others and work hard. Show more Show less
