Hi I'm Emilyanne

I grew up in Alaska. I love to run, be out in nature and help others. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures. I have met many people from around the world through my travels and by my family hosting exchange students. Some of my favorite things to do are to go hiking, camping, rock climbing and

Why I am a Mormon

My mom was the only Mormon in my family when I was growing up. My dad goes to the Presbyterian church and when my mom and dad were married they agreed to let the children they would have choose for themselves what church they would want to belong to. My family attended my dads church one Sunday and then we would attend the LDS church the fallowing Sunday and we continued to switch back and forth each Sunday between each church. My brother and I would also participate in vacation bible school at a Baptist church during the summer with our friend who invited us to go. About the time when I was 13 or 14 years old I wanted to know what church I should be baptized in. I started to recognize the peace and happiness I felt when I attended the LDS church that I didn't feel as strongly at the other churches. The missionaries started teaching me and I agreed to be baptized. When I started high school I felt very alone. Many of the other students did not have the same beliefs and standards I had. One night I just could not handle feeling so absolutely alone. I prayed to the Lord with all my heart for comfort, to know I was not alone. The feeling I felt during that prayer testified to me that God loves me, Jesus Christ knows me personally and that I was doing the right thing.

How I live my faith

I do many things to live my faith. I attend church meetings on Sunday and participate in other church classes and activities durring the week. When I learn something new and feel that it is true through the power of the Holy Spirit, I practice applying that truth into my everyday life. Each day I read my scriptues and say my prayers in the morning, before I go to sleep and any other time I feel the need to communicate to my Heavenly Father. When ever anyone needs help I try my best to help them. I participate in service projects to help my community and other people around the world.
