Hi I'm Elder Bayles

I grew up in Florida, and as of right now i'm currently serving a mission in the Utah Ogden Mission.

About Me

I grew up in Florida, where not many members were, i also grew up in the church. I wasn't as strong as i should/could have been as a teenager, i wasn't inactive, i just didnt go to firesides and youth activities. I wasn't going to serve a mission either, until i moved to TN, when i got to TN i realized how alone i really was without friends, so i decided to start reading and praying more, i also was supported by some now, very very close friends. After about 2 months i realized, i need to do more with my life, and now im on a mission in the Utah Ogden mission, i absolutely love it!!! I'm currently serving in the Logan, USU campus area. I love playing soccer, volleyball, surfing, and really doing anything that is outside. I love the gospel and I've grown so much because of it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm mormon because of a few reasons. Today's world is corrupt, sick and twisted, and having a gospel that reflects Christ helps bring my life to a healthy perspective on what is most important. 1. I love the values the Church holds on families. They're the most important foundation we can have in this life, they are our backbone of support, love, and they should always be there for each other. 2. The knowledge of this gospel is something you cannot replace with all the logic of this world. The fact that I KNOW i will live with my family again, and i can do my best and follow the lord to live eternally with him means the world to me. Also the knowledge that i too can have a family forever makes me so happy. I know what happens after death and i'm not scared when someone i know passes on, i know exactly where they will be, and its comforting to know that. 3. Prayer, Faith, Scriptures, Church. These 4 things together can build your testimony, a testimony is your backbone, through testimony you know how to act and behave in this life. When trials bring you down, testimony is what pushes you though knowing, you WILL be ok, as long as you hold fast to the lord and his gospel. I know this church is true, i know that the book of mormon is a true scripture from Jesus Christ. i know Joseph Smith restored this gospel through faith in the lord and the power of the priesthood, and i know, i wouldn't want to be any where else in this world then on a mission, and i wouldn't want anything more then this gospel and knowing what i know. It is a TRUE blessing.

How I live my faith

I wake up every morning at 6:30am, i work out, i eat and get ready for the day. By 8 i am studying preach my gospel, and the scriptures, looking for things to teach people, and myself. By 10 i have companionship study, where we roll play certain investigators that need the most help, and we give feedback on what we have learned in personal study. from 11-9 we are out teaching via Facebook, scheduled lessons, talking to people, and trackting, also in between those times, we of course eat food. Food is ALWAYS good:). from 9-10 i shower, and write down in a journal what went on during that current day. By 10:30pm i'm in bed. I do this every day for the next 2 years of my life. I absolutely LOVE it! I preach and teach the gospel to those who need it, i get to read my scriptures everyday and i pray to our heavenly father at least 4 times a day. The way i live my life is a pure blessing, i wont see my family for the next 23 months, and im ok with that, because im doing the Lords work, and bringing others to Christ. Nothing can bring more joy then the work i do as a missionary of the LDS church.

Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Elder Bayles
We baptize people for a couple different reasons. #1. We follow the example of Jesus Christ who was perfect, he showed us the way by being baptized. #2. Baptism is essential, it represents the death of the old unclean you, as you are immersed fully into water, you are "burying" the old you, and as you are brought back out of the water is represents the "new" clean you. Baptism also is essential to getting to heaven and living with Jesus Christ and God again. Show more Show less
