Hi I'm Avery

I'm a certified giant. I love sports! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have lived in good ole West Jordan all my life. I love it here; I have an awesome family of which I love very much. I couldn't have asked for better friends. I love to play any type of sport, especially anything with a ball. In my schooling years I got into choral singing. At first it was so I could be with good friends, but I eventually picked up a love for it myself. I love the Lord and his church. I am so thankful to have been born within it and to have received the blessing of a personal testimony. I am so grateful that though the gospe

Why I am a Mormon

At first it was just because I was born into the church, but early on in my life I realized that it was much more than that. I love the Book of Mormon and have come to know of it's truthfulness through studying it and praying about it. I know this church is true, for it only brings happiness to one's life. I am a Mormon because this is Christ's church and I am striving to be like him.

How I live my faith

I took my first big step into the gospel when I was baptized. At that young age of 8, I began to realize the importance of the church. At the age of 12 I received my first calling, as a president over the 12 year old deacons. Though there weren't many of them, I tried my best to fulfill my duties. I later became the president of the 14 year old teachers. This included new responsibilities of which I would do my best to be there and complete. There were many Sundays where I would be preparing for the church day alone, but by then my faith and belief had grown to where I would be there to prepare the Savior's sacrament even if it was just me. I now currently have the calling of helping teach primary children. I have learned a lot from them and have realized that becoming like an innocent child, as Jesus teaches, will be well with us. I am continuing on my faith by serving a two year mission. I want to help bring others to the goodness I have come to know.

Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

God has given us these bodies and expects them to be treated as you would treat a gift. They are his greatest creations on Earth and he wants us to take care of them. They are called temples because the temple is a place that you can go to feel of the holy spirit. Your body can also have the holy spirit within them so in that aspect they are like temples. If we defile our bodies or do anything that the Lord has commanded us not to do, we lose that holy spirit which is essential in our everyday lives. Show more Show less
