Hi I'm Elder Bryan Barney

I love music, sports, spending time with family and friends, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am born and raised in Arizona. I love Arizona because it is so versatile. I have a really big family and they are so important to me. I don't know where I would be without them. I love jamming out to music with a good beat. I like sports like tennis, racquetball, and ultimate frisbee. I enjoy being active and having fun with other people. I have completed one year of college education and after my mission, I will return to my studies. I am majoring in electrical engineering and minoring in computer science. I love math, especially calculus. I truly love to learn, and I want to take as many classes as possible because there is so much out there to learn, and so little time to get to do it. I'm currently serving a mission in the West Virginia Charleston Mission. I LOVE IT HERE!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and so growing up, going to church was more out of habit than out of desire. When I went to college, things changed. I had to choose whether I actually wanted to go to church or not. I had to decide if I wanted to live the gospel or not. I decided that I would go to church, fulfill my responsibilities and do what God has commanded me to do. It wasn't my parent's choice, it wasn't my friends pressuring me, it was my very own choice. Choosing to follow the commandments has made all the difference in my life. I know that God lives and that His Son Jesus Christ is my Savior. I want to serve Them and honor Them so that one day, I can live Them and my family forever. I have made a choice to go on a mission because I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. Christ commanded His apostles to preach the gospel throughout the world. I have been given the same mandate from Him through the current prophet on the earth. I encourage everyone to find out for themselves if God lives, if Jesus Christ is their Savior, and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's Church, or not. Heavenly Father has let me know through the Holy Ghost, and I know He can/will let you know, too. Never give up, no matter how hard life gets. Heavenly Father loves you and wants you to be happy, even though this life isn't always the easiest, everything will work out in the end.

How I live my faith

I have served for the church voluntarily in a few positions but right now I'm living my faith by serving a 2-year mission. I go out just about every day and try to talk to as many people as possible about the light of the restored gospel. I want to share the happiness I feel with other people. It's so cool to see the effect that the Church has on people.
