Hi I'm Zachary

I grew up in Rexburg, Idaho. I play the drums. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to ski with my family, and I do so every winter. I play the drums, and played the the Drum set in a band during High School. I'm currently in my first year of college, and am a history major.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints is God's church on the Earth today. The peace and confirmations I get every time I pray or read the scriptures are undeniable, and strengthen me in my daily life. Because I have received these confirmations I know certain things. I know that President Thomas S Monson is God's prophet on the Earth today, and that by listening to him we can be prepared for all things that we need to do to be safe and prepared for the coming of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and that by abiding by its principles we can be happy. I know that the only way to be cleansed from sin is through the atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that God has given us the opportunity to repent because he loves us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to enrich those around me. I go to church every week, and participate in service projects often with others from my church.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Before the dedication of a temple, during the open house, anyone can enter. However, after it's dedication it is The House of the Lord. As it is God's house we find it necessary to keep it sacred. In the Book of Mormon we learn that, "No unclean thing can dwell with God." This means that members or non-members of the LDS church must meet certain standards of worthiness before entering the temple. In temples members of our faith learn eternal truths, and participate in ordinances that are designed to help us return to the presence of God. Show more Show less
