Hi I'm Laura

I grew up in South Ogden, UT. I am a 6th grade teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a daughter, an aunt, a niece, and a friend. I currently teach 6th grade at an elementary school. I enjoy trying new things. I love anything from reading and baking to boating and four-wheeling. Most of all, I love spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have been raised in a family where Christ and His teachings were at the center of our home. I was taught that I am a daughter of our Heavenly Father and that he knows and loves me personally. As I grew older I had several trials that came into my life. With each trial I grew closer to my Heavenly Father, relying heavily upon him and his son's atonement to help strengthen me in my times of need. I soon realized that my loving Heavenly Father knew me so intimately that he knew what I needed even before I knew, or could ask for the help. He sent family, friends, and other earthly angels into my life at certain moments to lift me up in times of despair. I have prayed to see the Lord's hand in my life, and each day that I do, I am overwhelmed with the blessings that I see. The teaching from my youth that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and that he knows me and loves me individually, became a reality to me. The scriptures in 1 Nephi 21: 15-16 testify of this principle, "For can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee, O house of Israel. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me." I know that my Savior loves me. I know that he atoned for each and every one of Heavenly Father's children so that he could know the pains, trials, sorrows and joys that each of us endure personally. I know that because He loves us so much, we have been given a living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson, to lead His church here on the earth in these latter days. I know that the scriptures are true, that through them we can come to know out Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. I know that no greater happiness can be felt, than the happiness that comes from living the teachings of the gospel.

How I live my faith

The Gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is an integral part of who I am. I live my faith by being an example of the love of our Savior to those around me, studying the scriptures, and praying to know of the Lord's will for me and to be an instrument in the Lord's hands. I currently teach the youth ages 13-14 each Sunday. During this time we focus on the teachings the scriptures, teachings from past and current prophets, and how we can become more like our Savior Jesus Christ.
