Hi I'm Jordan Kannianen

I'm a native North Dakotan, an electrical contractor, a father of 4 (soon to be 5), and a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in North Dakota, and my wife and I returned to my home area several years ago. I have a Masters Degree in Management and my Masters Electrician license. I enjoy family history, reading and playing outside with my kids, serving people in the Church and in the community, sports, and many other things. I served as a missionary in Spain.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the age of 18. Quite simply, as I began to read the Book of Mormon, pray, and attend church, I felt the feelings of the Spirit of God that I'd never felt before. I was filled with joy and happiness as I realized that these things were all from God. I knew for myself that Heavenly Father knew who I was, because He had answered my prayers through His Spirit. I felt His love for me personally. I knew that Jesus Christ was my Savior and had given me, through His atoning sacrifice, the gift and opportunity of repentance. I also knew that the Father and the Son had appeared to Joseph Smith in 1820, and that all of Joseph's words were true. The Father and the Son visited him personally and taught Him. The resurrected Moroni visited him later and told him about an ancient scriptural record, which he later obtained and translated by the power of God, giving us the Book of Mormon. Additionally, heavenly messengers had restored the holy priesthood to the earth through him, through which families can be sealed together for all eternity. Knowing all of these things to be true, I chose to be baptized a member of the Church. I am a Mormon, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, because this is the way to salvation and exaltation in Heavenly Father's Kingdom. The restored Church of Jesus Christ contains the doctrines and priesthood ordinances necessary for salvation. I joined the Church and continue to cherish my membership in the Church because I know through personal revelation that all these things are true. I have experienced the joy of having prayers answered through the feelings of the Holy Ghost touching my heart. Once I began to feel those feelings testifying to me that these things were true, there was no turning back, and there never will be.

How I live my faith

I love visiting other Church members in their homes to get to know them, to serve them in any way I can, and to teach the Gospel. I currently serve as a leader among the men of our Branch, and I have the privilege and responsibility of organizing, supervising, and encouraging the brethren in their home teaching assignments to members' homes. We attend the temple in Bismarck at least monthly in order to serve and to worship.
