Hi I'm Jaque

I grew up in Utah, served in the Guatemala South Mission, and am currently studying Computer Engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am attending college, learning about computer engineering and business. I served a mission Spanish speaking, and fell in love with the language and the people of Guatemala. I like running, not so much as a competition, more for the fun of it. I really like getting to know people, making friendships, and just having a good time. I like making connections between what I am learning with real life and with other subjects, such as music theory and linear algebra. I love music, I enjoy playing the piano, the guitar, the organ, and I have an extensive list of the other instruments that I want to learn to play such as the bagpipes, the Irish flute, the didgeridoo, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church. I follow the gospel of Jesus Christ because it brings me joy and peace to know that my family can live together for eternity. I like the happiness that I find as I obey the commandments and follow the living prophet. I love the Savior, and I love His word. I feel closer to Him and to Heavenly Father as I study the scriptures, and go to the temple.

How I live my faith

I just got called to work on the activities committee in my ward, where we plan I think it will be a great opportunity to learn, that is one of the purposes of a calling. Home teaching is a wonderful program that helps us be able to serve others. I enjoy home teaching, it is a great way to make friends, and serve others. One of the best ways that has helped my faith deepen has been through daily scripture study, daily prayer, basically consistency. As we constantly do things, they become habit, and they become profound aspects of our day to day lives.
