Hi I'm Jim

I grew up in Utah, but have traveled throughout the United States and in other countries. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired. I enjoy spending time with my wife and family. I have enjoyed camping and traveling. I like to play golf, but I'm not very good. I have been remodeling my house, this keep me busy and develops new skills. I enjoy life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church, but at seventeen I joined the United States Air Force and left the influence of friends and family. I drifted for a while, but something was missing in my life. One day a knock came on my barracks room door. Three men stood there and said they were from the Church. They invited me to come back. I found that the association with the Church was what I was missing in my life. I have tried to associate with the church ever sense. This has made me what I am. I am grateful for the invitation to return.

How I live my faith

I volunteer at the local Sr. Center where I am the Committee Chairman, and I teach leather work and cut wood for the wood working classes. I have held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have worked with children, youth and adults. After retiring my wife and I served a mission for the church in Canada. This was a wonderful experience. I have enjoyed it all. Now I try to do all that is asked of me.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Jim
I live in a small senior community that consist of church members and non-members. We all work together to make our community a better place to live. I find it doesn't matter what your church is you can all help each other. That is what make a community. Show more Show less
