Hi I'm Sherri

I'm a wife and mother. I love to quilt, sew, and write. I teach English. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and a Mom to four children, and I have appreciated the blessings of being able to be a part of a wonderful family. I have a lot of hobbies and interests including reading, writing, family history, and quilting. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English along with additional post-graduate studies in English. I currently teach composition classes at a local community college. I'm also interested in family history and have enjoyed learning and studying about the lives of my ancestors. I'm grateful for family stories and journals that have been handed down through the years enabling me to learn about those who came before me in my "family tree." I also love fabric, sewing and quilting--I sew nearly every day and love creating beautiful things for home, for my family, and for my friends. I am blessed to be able to write and teach about my love for quilting in many different forums and settings.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was twelve years old. I am truly thankful for the missionaries who came into our home and taught the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ to my family. My Mom and I were both able to be baptized on the same day, and I have continued to learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ every day since. I am grateful for my membership in this church and can't imagine how I would have raised my children without the teachings of Jesus Christ and the counsel and admonitions from Latter-day Prophets to guide me. I also can't imagine living my own life without the knowledge that I lived before I was here on this earth, that my Heavenly Father knows me and loves me, and that I have the opportunity to be with loved ones again after this life.

How I live my faith

I currently work with the young women of my congregation. I teach Sunday lessons on Gospel principles and also help organize weekly activities for the girls. I have also taught Sunday School for children, youth and adults over the past 30 years.. For a few years I taught early morning religious classes for high school students. I have also spent time working as a Family History Consultant helping others to do on-line research for their ancestors.
