Hi I'm Mike Woodward

I'm a cancer survivor, proud father of three children, and husband to my best friend; and yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the proud father of three children, two sons and one daughter. I was lucky enough to marry my "soul mate" in the Salt Lake temple. My wife and I are complete opposites ... for some reason it seems to work. I work as a Digital Marketing and E-Commerce director for a large home furnishings store located in the Western United States. I've worked in the technology sector for over 20 years. I love anything that has to do with sports with American football being my favorite. I love the outdoors and everything nature has to offer. I love a day on the river casting a fly or just sightseeing enjoying God's creations. I'm lucky to have survived Leukemia and a bone marrow transplant back in 1997. I've been blessed with a large "block of time" to raise my children and see them grow and progress in life and the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into the LDS church when I was eight years old. I was taught the gospel by goodly parents and dedicated church teachers and leaders. At the age of 19, I accepted a mission call to serve in the Australia Brisbane mission. I always wanted to serve a mission as long as I could remember. Prior to serving a full-time mission for two years, I wanted to be sure that what I would be teaching was true. I came to understand that I always had a testimony of the church. I realized that the Spirit had spoken to me time and time again testifying of truth. I knew the Book of Mormon to be true because I had read it and prayed about it. I knew Joseph Smith was the Lord's prophet in the latter-days because the Spirt had spoken peace to my mind and heart concerning the matter. I continue to this day to believe the things I learned as a child and as a youth. I know that anyone can have that same peace and assurance if they will humble themselves as a little child and ask our Father in Heaven if these things are true. I know they too can have this same assurance from the Spirit. I've seen it first hand in my own life and the life of others. I challenge everyone and anyone to do likewise.

How I live my faith

I've been lucky to have served with the youth of the church. There's no greater call than to teach principles of faith and virtue to the young people of this earth. The youth of today have an innate ability to understand the spiritual things of life. All they need is a little direction to nurture this ability. I consider myself blessed to have helped nurture some along the way. I feel as if my greatest calling on this earth is to be a good father and husband. I strive to live the standards of the church which are the Lord's standards. I strive to be honest, upright and trustworthy in my everyday life.
