Hi I'm Johnathan

I grew up in Stansbury Park. I like sports such as, football, cross-country, and wrestling. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a normal kid that lives in a regular town in a regular Utah family. I have always enjoyed hanging out with my friends from a young age and playing sports. I was an avid cross-country runner when I was a freshmen but got bored of running. When I was a sophomore I played football, I didn't like football that much so I tried Wrestling. I wasn't so sure about wrestling when I started but I grew to love the sport more than any other sport I had played previously. I had some great and lasting friendships that have lasted after high school because of wrestling. I didn't know it at the time but wrestling helped my faith grow in the gospel through the support of my friends. After many trails that have made me gain a stronger testimony and have brought so much joy to my life I decided to serve as a full time missionary to bless other peoples lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I use to be Mormon because my parents are Mormon. I grew up in an LDS family and I use to go to church because that's just what we did. One Sunday I realized that my mom and dad weren't going to force me to go to church so I stopped. At first it was fun and it felt like I had so much more freedom in my life. I started hanging out with the wrong kids and made some wrong choices. I realized that by taking this path in my life I had actually lost my freedom. I was very unhappy and I didn't even realize why. I came to find out that the only way to have true freedom and happiness was through the church. I started going back to church, read the scriptures often, prayed more, and hung out with the right kids. Because it was me that was pursing the church and not going through the motions when I attended church, I began to feel the spirit more and gained a stronger testimony. After a few weeks of trying to do what was right I knew the peace and happiness I felt in my heart could only come through the Church and striving to keep the commandments. Even though the world teaches you to do whatever you want without consequences I know that is not the road to happiness no matter how much "fun" it looks like.

How I live my faith

I have been the president of the deacons quorum and I have had many opportunities to serve in my church. I think the most important thing that I can do for the church and for my community is trying my best to be an example. I have always tried to live my life so people can look up to me whether it be kids from my high school or people in my neighborhood. I have been able to depend on people that I look up to through my whole life and I have wanted to give that love back to others. I am preparing to serve a full time mission in the Copenhagen Denmark mission to give others the joy that I feel through the church.
