Hi I'm Jeanne

I grew up in St. Petersburg, florida. I am a retired Business Education teacher and I am a Mormon

About Me

I have lived all of my life in Florida. I have a son and was a single mom. I remarried in my fifties and am now a widow. I love to read, knit, crochet, and garden. I have a bachelors degree in Business Education and taught for 26 years. I also have worked as a secretary and office manager. Since I have retired have have the opportunity to do something that I have wanted to have the time to be able to do for a long time. I am currently serving a full-time mission in the Florida Tampa Mission. This is a wonderful blessing to me. I believe that this church has the true gospel. Now I have a chance to use the skills that I have gained throughout my life to help the effort to teach others the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to join the church because I believed it's teachings are true. I believe that famiies are eternal. This is a belief that I have had from the time I was little. When I was taught that the church believed in eternal families, I was interested in learning more. As I learned more of the doctrine, I prayed about it, and felt that it was all true. Since that time I have continued to learn more about my Heavenly Father. I have learned about my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I now know that Jesus Christ came to this earth to atone for our sins. This is such a great message. He came to atone for our sins. This is something that we cannot do for ourselves. It took Jesus to sacrifice and come to this earth and go through all the things he endured to atone for our sins. Now, each of us have been given the gift of being resurrected. Jesus did so much more. By His atonement, we now have the opportunity to gain eternal life and to be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father. To be able to do this, we must accept Jesus Christ as our savior and we have to obey his commandments and endure to the end. I have learned what a wonderful opportunity this is for me. As I have tried to live the way I am commanded to, I have found out that it as made me free and happy. I am free from many of the sins of the world and this has made me happy. Being happy was something I never felt before I joined the Church. To know that, if I do all that I can do, I have the opportunity to return to my Heavenly Father one day and will be able to live with him eternally had brought great joy into my life and I am very grateful for this knowledge.

How I live my faith

I have participated in my community as a member of my homeowners association and by trying to keep informed about issues. I have been very involved in my church. I have taught children in Sunday School and taught classes for adults. I have had the opportunity to help many of my church members with problems that they had and have found all of these activities very rewarding and have made me grow as a person. In doing these things I have become more happy.
