Hi I'm Kayla

I live in a small, mountainous valley in Utah. I'm moving to Uruguay. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love people. :D I love meeting new people and making friends! I also enjoy reading, playing the piano, watching basketball with my family, singing, dancing, and laughing!! In High School I danced, debated, did choir, took stats for the boys basketball team, was involved in Student Government, and did LOTS of homework. I look forward to attending Brigham Young University in a couple years and studying Communication Disorders so that I can become a Speech Pathologist. :) Life is a beautiful adventure and I am blessed to be able to enjoy it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon. My parents were both born Mormons. But I have never felt brainwashed or forced to be a member of this church. At a very young age I recognized something in this church that has made me a converted member: happiness. The principles and doctrines taught by the church, when applied daily, bring the most lasting happiness that can be offered anywhere. So often, the world wants proof, and there are many who are quick to point out that you can't 'prove' religion. But I don't know about that. I think that the proof lies in the little miracles that Members of the Church experience every day. I think the proof lies in the happiness, the peace, and the joy that they experience. For me, the proof that this really is God's Church restored upon the Earth lies in the overwhelming happiness that I feel when I attend the Temple or read the Book of Mormon, which truly is the Word of God. The proof for me is the gentle warmth in my heart when I obey God's commandments or pray to a Heavenly Father who I know loves me personally and tenderly. The world is crazier and more confusing than it has ever been, but the fact that when I obey the living Prophet's guidance I am spared the heartache and pain and confusion that many of my non-active, non-member, or even just non-converted friends go through--well, that's really all the proof I need. President Boyd K. Packer said, "We are not obedient because we are blind, but because we can see." I am not a brainwashed Mormon girl. I am an enlightened, happy, obedient, faithful individual who loves the Lord and is so grateful that I am able to live in these Latter-days where the Gospel is restored in full. I am a proud owner of a firm testimony in my Savior Jesus Christ and His Atonement. I am an 19 year old girl who is moving to South America to preach the gospel in a language I don't know-- And I am THRILLED! And that's why, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm preparing to serve a Full Time Mission for the Church!! :D I report to the Argentina Missionary Training Center on November 21, 2013, and will be serving in the Uruguay, Montevideo West Mission!! I feel so blessed to go and serve the people of Uruguay. :) My purpose is to invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I can't wait!!!
