Hi I'm Daniel Hilton

I'm a Utahn and I love swimming, running marathons, and reading novels. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born the youngest in 1992 to a fully active LDS family in Utah, and I am forever grateful for that blessing. Grew up a hyper, active, curious youth always competing with my older brothers over everything. Loved to swim and run from an early age and my athletics has been a huge part of my life since. Studied exercise science at college (human anatomy was AWESOME) and I love reading and learning about the brain. Studied piano for 4 years and choir for another 2, music of all sorts make my life more enjoyable. Reading is my get away (Harry Potter, Fablehaven, Hunger Games, Beyonders, Shanara, LOTR/Hobbit, Chronicles of Narnia, etc etc). I currently work at the local Hospital transporting in-patients for Imagining exams, and scheduling out-patients as well. Daydreaming is my crutch and experimenting new things is my passion. My heart is invested in my two dogs, labradoodles; Edward and Chewy. I have recently received a mission call to serve 24 months in ORANDO FLORIDA English speaking. I start January 1, 2014. ... I am so excited I can't wait!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I knew from a fairly early age that I would never be satisfied with 'following' my parents religion just because I 'should'. So I studied and observed both my own actions and the actions of my member and non-member friends and family. I have experienced heartache and pain in both my life and the lives of my brothers and sisters when we do not choose to live like we have been taught. Like any good scientific experiment, the same vectors and ingredients will produce the same results. THIS is what I've learned. When I live the Gospel of Jesus Christ I have happiness and joy. When I do not live the Gospel I do not. It is that simple for me. I have seen it time and time again and now I am convinced it is true. Not because I am ignorant or because I KNOW everything, but because I have seen the fruits of this gospel. And they are more sweet than anything I have yet tasted in this life. This is my testimony and I would gladly give all of my life to build and defend it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every hour. Sundays are when I teach class lessons every other week and participate in choir. Monday is when I sit with my friends and family and talk about the things I learned last week and my hopes for the week to come. I am continuously looking for more sources of truth wherever they may be. I respect my body with good nutrition and exercise. I look for my own weakness and try to make them into strengths everyday. Making and keeping friends is the best way I can describe how I live my faith. Also preparing for my upcoming Mission physically/spiritually/emotionally/socially/financially is a daily struggle that I'm glad to sacrifice for.
