Hi I'm Kelly D. Shepherd

Our family has lived in Utah, Italy, Colorado, Florida, and Texas and met great Latter-day Saints in every location.

About Me

I grew up playing ball. It really didn't matter what kind, whatever was available. Evenutually through high school I realized baseball was the sport I loved. I attended college on a baseball scholarship, both at Snow College and at BYU. I served a mission for the Church in Italy and the experience of working with the Italian people. Eventually I combined baseball and my mission expereiences together when I was able to return to Italy and play baseball. I'm now employed by Seminaries and Institutes of Religion and get to teach great young people everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Book of Mormon. It changed my life when I was eighteen years old and it continues to influence my life every day.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church I've been given many opportunities to serve. I've worked with children, youth and adults. I enjoy teaching the gospel, but I also enjoy the very practical way we can apply the teachings of Jesus through service.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Kelly D. Shepherd
As a Mormon, I've been asked to serve in many different ways. Much of the service has been for those who are not of our faith. I've participated in food drives, canning projects, tornado clean-up, and clothing drives. I also have the opportunity to donate cash that is used around the world as well as in my local area to help those who have needs that can't be met by physical labor. I go without food for two meals each month (fasting) and contribute that money to be used to help. I don't ask if those I can help are Mormons or not, it's a blessing and opportunity to serve brothers and sisters, no matter what their background or faith is. Show more Show less
