Hi I'm Chad Quilling

I'm a tech geek, I love photography, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest child and the only boy in my family. I have grown up in my home town my entire life, but have moved almost 18 times. I am currently serving a mission in Iowa and plan to attend BYU Provo when I return to study Computer Science. I have an emense love of technology and have already taught myself how to program. My favorite tech company is Apple. I love attending school and reading. When I get all my work done, I occassionaly play video games.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was born, I have attended church with my parents. I was baptized and confirmed a member when I was 8, and continued going after that. In the beginning, I attended church because my parents brought me, but I along the way I started to really enjoy the experience. I knew who Jesus Christ was, and how his teaching could help me. When I was in 6th or 7th grade, I really started to gain my own testimony and I knew for a fact that this church had the fullness of the gospel. I was challenged to read the Book of Mormon by my mom one night, to see which one of us would finish it first. I took her challenge, and set a goal to read it ever single day. I eventually finished it later that year, and followed Moroni's challenge to "ask God" if the book was true. I remember feeling a sense of peace come over me. I hadn't felt something like that before. I knew it was an answer to my prayer and that the Book of Mormon was true. Knowing the Book of Mormon to be true led me to ask God if there was a prophet on the Earth today, and if this was his church, restored to the Earth. I continued to pray, and received a confirming answer to those as well. I desired to share this knowledge with others, just like my parents shared it with me. I am currently serving a full-time mission in Iowa, and I feel the love our Heavenly Father has for all of us. He loves us each so very much. That is why he sent his son to die for us, and has once again restored his gospel and church to the Earth.

How I live my faith

I know that faith is one of the most important aspects that we can have, and how the best way to make it grow is to live my faith. I always attend my church meetings every Sunday. I have led the music and served as a technical specialist in my ward. I also have been a home teacher for various families in my ward. I visit their families every month to share a small lesson and to see if there is anything that they may need help with. During my school day, I have attended Seminary to learn about the scriptures. I woke up early my entire senior year to attend this class and then during the summer took the time to attend Institute, a college level religion class. Right now, I am serving a mission in Iowa and this is one of the most important ways that I am living my faith right now. I give two years to my Heavenly Father to go and serve. I share the gospel with others that they may learn of it.
