Hi I'm Alicia

I have lived in Utah all of my life, and yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love dancing, watching movies, and going on relaxing walks.I also enjoy spending time with my family, which usually involves a delicious meal. I have completed my Associate's degree and have another year and a half before I will earn my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I have lived in the country almost all my life so I would love to one day teach in a small town. I love music and once was a percussionist (for 7 years). I love to read the Harry Potter series and the Fablehaven series books. I do not consider myself an amazing singer, but I do love to turn up the music in my car and sing along. I currently am serving a mission in Colorado and I have enjoyed meeting new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am grateful that my parents are members of the church and that I myself chose to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Each time When I go to church I feel good and I go away wanting to change my life so that I can become more like Christ. I know that this is Christ's church that was restored to the earth through the Lord's prophet, Joseph Smith. I also know that the Book of Mormon is true. I have prayed and felt in my heart that these things are true. I know that Jesus lives and that he loves all of us unconditionally. Because of this love, he was willing to suffer and atone for us that we might live again. His church has brought me happiness and I am blessed to be a part of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making little goals to do better each day like giving service, refraining from yelling, or even just smiling more to help brighten someone's day. My standards are high and I do not and will not lower them. I do not swear, drink alcohol, or smoke because I do not want to. I dress modestly to show respect for myself and others. I seek to love others as Christ does because I know that will bring me true happiness.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons do not only help Mormons. Like Christ, we strive to help all. Since 1985, when The Church first started keeping track of its' donations, over $1 billion in cash and materials has been donated to 167 countries that have been in need of humanitarian aid. Several of these countries had hardly any, if any, Mormons and some were also non-Christian. There are also approximately 80,000 Mormon missionaries serving all over the world today and they specifically serve those who are not Mormon. Joseph Smith taught that we are "to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow,to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all."
