Hi I'm Elise

I love being in the mountains. I'm serving a full-time mission for a year and a half. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Montana is where I call home when I'm not at school preparing for the nursing program. No matter where I live though, I do what I can to get outside by hiking, biking, skiing, and swimming...just being in God's magnificent creations brings joy to my soul. Cooking delicious food for people is one of the ways I show love and I'm always on the lookout for a good book. I'm a mellow, happy, goofy girl with an enthusiasm for helping people, which is what I'll be doing full-time for the next 18 months as I serve a mission for the church.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been active in the church ever since I was born because my whole family was, but it wasn't until I was a bit older that I started to be involved not just because my parents were, but because I felt that God wanted me to be. The first time I felt this way was when I visited the temple in Washington D.C. for the first time. I remember a warm, peaceful feeling washed over me...I knew that I was in the right place. Ever since then, I've been trying to apply what I learn at church, and as I do this, I am blessed more and more. Its not that life suddenly gets easy, but that I have increased knowledge of God's love for me. I know that He has a plan for me and that He will help me through any trial. This knowledge brings me so much peace, even as the world becomes anything but peaceful.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live my faith in everything I do...no matter what day of the week it is, where I am, or what I'm doing. Though big things are important, I believe that I live what Christ taught mostly through little daily things, like how I treat my family and the way I speak. It can be difficult though for me to remember to do God's will, so I pray all the time for help to remember and for guidance as to what He would have me do to serve his children. I'm far from perfect, which is why I'm so grateful that Heavenly Father is patient with me and helps me as I try to act on my faith.
