Hi I'm Alexis

I am a student of photography. I love traveling the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a BFA photography student at BYU focusing on documentary and fine art work. Art is a big part of my life. I served a mission in the Bolivia Cochabamba mission from February 2014-August 2015. Serving God was one of the greatest blessings in my life. In 2012, I volunteered as an English teacher in Kyiv, Ukraine where I learned to love traveling and gained a greater love for people and culture. My family spends time outdoors and we enjoy taking our dogs camping.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm mormon because I love my Heavenly Father. The knowledge of who I am in His eyes has given me the strength to conquer my trials. There is a god in heaven who loves me unconditionally. Therefore, everything else. Therefore, He gave me scriptures and prophets and a church to belong to. Therefore, He gave me talents and abilities to help those around me. Therefore, He gave me a family to mirror our own celestial family units. Therefore, He gave me rain and sunflowers and hazelnut gelato. Therefore, He gave me hard things and weaknesses. The list goes on for miles. I'll forever be grateful for the truth and for His love.

How I live my faith

Our Savior was attentive to the individual and loved everyone around Him. Every day, we have a chance to be more like Him. As members of the LDS faith and a follower of Christ, I have made promises to be more like my Savior and to take care of those around me. I'm not perfect, but I try to be kind and look for opportunities to serve with the abilities I have been given. Every day we make decisions that lead us closer to Christ and little things like prayer, church attendance, and scripture study make a big difference. The scriptures bring me so much peace.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The wonderful thing about being LDS is that nobody has to merely take our word for it. Ask God. The way to do this is through prayer and it is the best way! When we seek for truth, our Heavenly Father wants to help us and give us answers. When we ask with intent to receive an answer, we can and will. The answer comes in a feeling to most people, a feeling of calm and peace and happiness. God is full of light and truth. I have been a memeber all my life and still pray to confirm truth when I learn it! It is so important. By living the way God would have us live ,we can find the true and clarity in Mormonism and the gospel of Jesus Christ Show more Show less
