Hi I'm Autumn

I am American. I love my family, music, and travel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a military family and had the opportunity to move around the world and travel more than most. The experiences of my childhood helped shape me into my person I am today. They gave me a love of travel and an appreciation for my family who loves me. They also helped me to recognize how truly global the Church of Jesus Christ is. I attend Brigham Young University in Provo, UT and appreciate the spirit that I feel so strongly there. I am currently spending a semester of service abroad in China and am enjoying every opportunity not only to travel and see the culture of this country, but also to teach English to the children here. I am also anxiously awaiting my opportunity to begin my missionary service in the Mexico Xalapa Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the church before I was born. I grew up surrounded by the church and the love of the Savior. However, as I got a little older and began facing my own trails, both in school and in other activities, I began to realize that just because my parents believed the church to be true did not mean that I did. I needed to gain a testimony of my own. That was a point in my life when we were also going through a move and I knew that I would not be able to get through all of the changes that were occurring in my life on my own. I began to turn to the Lord and ask him for strength and comfort. Because of this decision to turn to the Lord I made it through not only that trial, but all others that have followed. I guess what I am trying to say is that I choose to be a Mormon because it strengthens me. The power that I receive when I follow the commandments and have faith in Christ and in His Restored Gospel is real and it is the only way that I make through.

How I live my faith

I find joy in service and in the closeness that I feel to my Savior when I do His will. I am currently serving the people of China and teaching English to the children here. I feel my Savior's love when I see their smiles and the light of Christ they have in their eyes. At Brigham Young University, where I attend college, I am a Resident Assistant. I love working with the Freshman who live on campus and helping them get used to living on their own.
