Hi I'm Susan

I'm a Canadian, a film enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently completing my undergrad as a film studies major in university. I served as a full time missionary in the Canada Vancouver Mission and I absolutely loved every second of it! I love listening to film scores and I've been known to quote movies quite consistently in conversation. I love fresh air, crunchy leaves, black and white photography, and Thai food.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because of my testimony of this restored gospel. My testimony of the church did not come from a great, miraculous event. It came gradually, through small spiritual experiences and feelings - many of which came from my daily prayers and scripture study. Through "experimenting upon [His] words and exercising a particle of faith" (Alma 32:27), I have gained my own witness of the temporal and spiritual blessings that come from living the gospel of Jesus Christ. As I learned how to apply the teachings of the scriptures to my life, I have found greater joy, understanding, and peace. Reading the Book of Mormon helped me to understand basic truths that are the foundation of my testimony: that we are all children of a loving Heavenly Father. Knowing who I am and my potential as a daughter of God helps me to have the desire to love all of God's children and to follow in the Saviour's example.

How I live my faith

I love being involved in my YSA (young single adult) ward! Being surrounded by others in my age group who are going through many similar experiences, feelings, and trials that I am also going through has been edifying. The church has blessed my life and been a great support to me. I love being part of missionary work! Service truly brings blessings and real, lasting happiness! I have felt great joy in building true friendships with the missionaries, members, and non-members alike.
