Hi I'm Christian

Canadian, I love Spanish culture, I love helping families, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest of 6 crazy kids and I have two awesome parents. My family is the world to me and I can't wait to have my own some day. I've served a mission in Sydney Australia, but it was actually Spanish speaking and I LOVE Hispanic culture (and food!) I love martial arts, reading, any type of learning, and anything that gets me active. The change in my life the gospel has made inspires me to want to go out and help other people. I might not know everything but I do know something; and with that something there are people I can help. I love the feeling I get when I see someone else smile because of something I did or put in motion, or seeing someone breath a sigh of relief for a stress that's been taken away.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but truth be told that's not saying much. Both my parents are converts, and every member at some time or another will pass for their own personal conversion. For myself though I was baptized at 8, I've only truly been a member perhaps the last 4 or 5 years, when I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. Every wondered if a book can really change your life? The answer is yes. Need guidance? Need Help? Have Questions? Why are you here? What is your goal? What is your purpose? The Book of Mormon can help. I read it, I was going through a hard time personally and with my family and it gave me strength. It wasn't sudden like the flicking on of a light, or a grand epiphany. Instead I began reading seeing the example of a young women who was a friend of mine. She was so excited about the gospel and I was curious why... So I started reading. At first I did it just out of curiosity and also out of an interest to appease my parents, seminary teachers (, and said girl) but soon I found myself reading with great intensity. The book called out to me and the stories came to life. These people with strange names... Moroni, Helaman, Nephi... quickly became heroes to me! Even Teancum jumped off the page! Slowly in my day to day activities I saw an increase; of peace, happiness, patience, charity, love, faith, and a renewed desire to confront and conquer the struggles of daily life. Old habits and addictions, once mountains, oppressing and seemingly unscaleable, quickly became the roads I spent my time travelling. Video games, fantasy books and many other escapes from real world stresses became less necessary and as a by-product I began to spend my time developing new skills. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints changed my life in every way. Until one day as I was speaking I just realized I really did know it was true. Since then I have witnessed almost daily the miracles of Christs Infinite Atonement.

How I live my faith

Right now I'm a full time missionary and I've spent the majority of my time serving in the only Spanish ward currently in Australia! (wahoo represent!) I've learned the language and love the people. I've felt the difference the gospel has made in my life and because of that I want to use it to help other people. I know it can bring families back together, conquer addictions, and heal souls. I've seen families that have suffered especially on my mission. One of the ways I live my faith is by trying to ease the burdens in their lives an help them to feel the love that the Savior has for every one of us. Missionary work helps me do that! I also am working towards trying to be the best spouse and father I can. Families are the fundamental unit of society, and of happiness. Success in family life is best found founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ. As I follow him I learn how to love my future wife better, I learn how I want to raise my children, I learn how to be a better Son, and how to serve my parents, I learn how to be a better brother, and how to serve my siblings. There is no satisfactory substitute for the gospel, or God wouldn't have sent it to us.
