Hi I'm Kendra Epperson

I love everything Disney. I love to be surrounded by children. I enjoy serving those who are in need. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student in the pursuit of a bachelor's degree in family studies with a minor in psychology. I chose this field of study because of my passion to serve others. I hope to become a marriage/family counselor one day, and help many people to improve their happiness and success in marriage and family life. I also enjoy photography. I love to create works of art through memorable photos and videos. I am also a dancer. I am not a professional, but I love to express my emotions through movements. I especially love to dance with others whether it is in a ballroom setting or just for fun. I am all about experiencing life to the fullest, and enjoy traveling, concerts, amusement parks, and theatrical performances. I am the second child in a family of four girls. My parents have a strong and loving marriage, and I hope to one day have the same. I love my family deeply and enjoy spending time with them often.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a home where both my parents were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As a child I relied on the testimony of my parents as I learned the doctrines and principles of the gospel. When I began my teenage years I began to desire to know for myself the truthfulness of these things. That knowledge came gradually as I lived the principles, sought counsel from my parents and participated in the young women program (a program for girls age 12 - 18). My testimony of this gospel began to grow as I would come to know the truth of one thing and then that would lead to the testimony of another. When I was eighteen my parents made the decision to become inactive due to the actions of other ward members. This moment in my life truly helped to define my beliefs and testimony in this gospel. Through a class in school I was given the opportunity to attend services of different religions, but I knew in my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the only true church. I chose to attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as often as I could with the hope that my family would join me again soon. About a year later my family was able to move into a new home where we all found a new start including regular church attendance. The experiences I went through to gain my testimony were not easy and seemed quite impossible at times, but through faith in a loving Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ, I was able to come out strong. I know that we have a loving Father in Heaven who knows each one of us individually. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and redeemer. I know that through Christ's atonement we can be forgiven for our sins. I know that we are never alone, as we need only to look to our Savior and Father in Heaven for comfort and peace. I know that it is through the gospel restored by Joesph Smith the prophet that we can find the true happiness that our Father in Heaven wants each of to have.

How I live my faith

I have had the rewarding opportunity to serve the children in my community by teaching them lessons both spiritual and educational. I specialized in working with the three and four year old children, and loved watching their excitement and enthusiasm as they explored their world. I love to be with children! Their loving and accepting nature is something that inspires me to be a better person. I have also had the opportunity to serve the youth in my community through assisting in the organization of a camping trip for the girls age twelve to eighteen in my ward and community. The youth of today are valiant and strong. They are faced with so much adversity in life, but through experiences such as this girls camp I hope they are able to find strength and faith. I have also had the opportunity to serve the women of my community and ward through acts of service specialized for certain individuals and events. Through services such as providing meals and child care, I hope to lift the burdens of the women around me.
